    Description

    Rare vintage (May 31, 1953) French competition oval metal award plaque for full breed Dutch bulls (Taureaux Race Hollandaise Pleines). Award for 1st place. The competition was held in Nouvion, a commune in the Somme department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. Note the raised design of cattle, pig and a lamb on the face of the plaque. Award plaque has original red paint with raised lettering. Loop at top, ready to hang alone or in a grouping.
    Award plaques from French breeding competitions (concours agricole) of various cattle/cows or horse breeds were usually displayed on the exterior or interior of the barn or stall for all to see in passing by.
    This oval shaped award plaque measures 9.5 inches by 6 inches (excluding loop at top).
